This past week the brothers participated in a Valentines Day themed philanthropy event, hosted by the Alpha Phi sorority on campus.  All of these heart themed events raised money for the American Heart Association.  This is a great organization in a country where heart diseases affects so many.  The brothers of Washington City Rho were glad to participate and realize how important this issue is to everyone.

This past week, the brothers were proud to participate in Sigma Delta Tau's philanthropy week.  There was a week of fun amazing events with money being raised for Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA).  This is a great organization whose goal is to raise awareness and help those who work to prevent child abuse.  The brother participated in a speed dating event to meet the sisters of Sigma Delta Tau, a trivia night were categories ranged from sports to pop culture, there was a fundraising night were proceeds from this amazing sandwich shop Jetties went to PCAA, finally to wrap up the week there was penny wars and a dodge ball tournament.  While Washington City Rho did not win the Torch.  It was great to participate in such an amazing week knowing what the money was going to.  We look forward to doing more events with the lovely sisters of Sigma Delta Tau.

On Feburary 9th, Washington City Rho inducted 5 members into our Gamma Pledge Class.  This group is an amazing group of pledges and hopefully we will induct all 5 of them into the ranks of Sigma Alpha Epsilon as full brothers.  But for now they are going through their pledging program lead by current Pledge Educator James "Matthew" Gray and with help from all of the active brothers.
